Sock Monkeys In The Wild

Shannon Grissom is on a quest to paint 44 sock monkeys! She intends to create an oracle card deck with them, similar to Angel/Fairy/Goddess cards. These will be spiritual (not religious) with a huge dose of humor! For example you might flip over one card and it would say..”Get Over Your Bad Self!”

She’ll have the paintings done by 11/1, just in time for 12/1 sock monkey art exhibit.  All 44 of her monkeys in one place. It’s going to be awesome says Shannon.

Here’s a link to information about the show: Sock Monkeys in the Wild at Blak Sage Gallery

And now, a little info from Shannon on some of her soon to be very famous Monkeys!

What? A 36×24 Original Oil Painting, Biker Dude Made of Sockies I bought the original at an auction benefitting the Midway Village Museum in Rockford, IL, home of the sock monkey. Oooooh I need to do an article about them.
Why? Because he made me smile!

What? A 36×24 Original Oil Painting Diva Made of Sockies.
Why? Because there is a Diva in every crowd!

What? A 40×30 Original Oil Painting Accordion.
Why? Because sock monkeys love music too and I love the fact that someone gave me the toy accordion recently, as they knew I’d love and play with, the toy.

What? A 36×24 Original Oil Painting Pot O Gold .
Why? Because I’m Scotts/Irish on me Mother’s side :O) And who couldn’t use a pot o gold?

A big thanks to Shannon for sharing her Monkeys with us! Be sure to visit her site Shannon Grissom Dot Com!

P.S. Shannon will soon be a Froobadoodette! We can’t wait!
